Chairperson-Jane Larson, MSW, LICSW, LCSW, has been working in the prevention field for nearly 25 years and is a Prevention Specialist in the State of Wisconsin. Jane currently works at Superior High School as a clinical school social worker, and is a Member-At-Large on the Northwoods Coalition Advisory Board. While her prevention work is aimed at addressing prevention issues across the lifespan, she has a particular passion for working with youth in our communities.
Vice Chairperson-Amy LaRue is an educator, an entrepreneur, and a wellness advocate. She is the owner of Aspire Health & Wellness, and she teaches in the Health & Human Performance Department at the University of Wisconsin-Superior. Amy has worked in the field of health education and promotion since 2005. Amy lives in Duluth and loves everything outdoors!
Secretary-Lisa Freier is a public health nurse with Douglas County. She’s been working in this role for over five years and has been focused on prevention since her career in public health began. She has been a part of the Drug Prevention Coalition in which she has served as secretary and has a strong interest in community focused prevention efforts. She lives in Duluth with her husband and cat (Minnie) and loves to camp and travel.
Nicole Gingery is one of the supervisors in the Superior Probation & Parole office. She has worked in reentry and corrections agencies in the Twin Ports since 2010. Prior to that, she attended courses at the University of Minnesota – Duluth focusing on sociology and criminology.
Sarah Westholm has been a registered nurse at Essentia Health for 7 years. She has spent most of her time working within the Behavioral Health Department in several levels of care including emergency, adult inpatient, and most recently adult partial hospitalization. She also enjoys spending time outdoors backpacking, canoeing, and camping.
Millie Rounsville has been the CEO of Northwest Wisconsin Community Services Agency (NWCSA) since 2006. A native of Poplar Wisconsin she holds a degree in Applied Science from Northwood Technical College (formerly WITC) and has completed additional certifications in Economic Development, Non-Profit Management and Leadership. In 2018 she achieved her Certified Community Action Professional. In her free time she enjoys reading, spending time with her family and being “out in the country”.
Captain Paul Winterscheidt serves as the patrol division commander for the Superior Police Department. Paul has been heavily involved in developing several Department initiatives, including the Pathways to Hope pre-arrest diversion program. He has been in law enforcement for approximately 18 years. Paul lives in Duluth with his wife and two cats (Sir Lou and Thomas).
Tanya supervises a youth advocacy program at the Human Development Center called Project Reach Out. She provides supportive services to runaway, homeless, and at-risk youth and young adults. Tanya’s prevention work led her to the coalition and onto earning her Drug Prevention Specialist IT license. Tanya is a lifelong Wisconsinite and lives in Maple with her husband and three kids.
Chief Nicholas Alexander has been with the Superior Police Department for nearly 24 years. He began his service in patrol and worked in that capacity for about 5 years. He then spent a year as a narcotics investigator before becoming a patrol sergeant. While a patrol Sergeant Nick began working in the area of computer forensics and digital evidence. He is currently an adjunct instructor for Fox Valley Technical College in Appleton, WI and the University of Wisconsin Superior where he instructs courses on cyber-crime, digital evidence, ethical policing, criminal
deviance, and interview and interrogation.
Denise Selden works as an Outreach Advocate at CASDA (Center Against Sexual and Domestic Abuse)since 2016 years and a survivor of Domestic Abuse. She has an Associate Degree in Records andInformation Management from the WITC of Eau Claire. She also received her Certification as a MasterLife skills Coach. Denise is active in community organizations. Denise likes to keep life simple. She enjoys her family and outdoor activities. She also enjoys reading, music and cooking.
Leanne is the Community Case Manager, providing a wide range of intensive, client-centered services to persons with HIV/AIDS in a variety of settings to expedite access to medical care with the goal of HIV viral suppression, to address medical, psychosocial, and other issues that are barriers to care, and to collaborate with other programs within Vivent Health and with local service providers for the benefit of clients and patients.
Anndrea is a business owner of 2 storefronts downtown Superior, blue arrow boutique & SPACES. She also has an online creative business called, Anndrea’s Art. She has lived in 7 different states & few more cities on top of that, but believes that Superior is “Superior”! She is passionate about making our community a great place to live and grow.
